MORIAH ZUCKERMAN - ATLANTA STUDENT

"ACT Speaks Louder Than Words"

Experiencing ACT is a dream come true. Walking into a class to learn from an ACT instructor is like walking into a fantasy land of imagination and creativity. In a world of ACT, I can be whoever I want, and do whatever I choose. From the moment I heard about ACT, I wanted to attend more than anything. At first we did not know how we could do it, because our family had a lot of medical hardship, but I kept praying and doing chores and jobs to help raise what I could to help. It was more than I even imagined. I loved it so much. Every minute was more fun than the one before.

Every person I met through ACT was so nice that each one became my friend. The people who helped get us registered were so helpful and friendly. They always encouraged me and all the kids. The teachers were terrific. They took time to hear our questions and calm our nerves, and helped us learn things we never thought of. Most importantly every one of the leaders with ACT encouraged me and the others to reach for our dreams and not give up.

The thing that stands out the most that I learned from ACT is that I must stay hopeful and keep on trying and knocking and not give up on my goals. The letters in the word ACT, have special meanings to me;

A stands for attitude. Acting is all about a positive attitude which makes the difference between failing and succeeding. Keep on trying, don’t give up. Stay hopeful, and reach for your dreams. Be kind to the people on the way up.....you may meet them again on the way down. Help each other. Encourage each other.

C stands for creativity. Be your own self, your own genes. You’ll stand out. You’re special. You’re unique. Keep on thinking new ideas. Be happy. Be confident. Be yourself!

T stands for talent... But without trying, talent is like a diamond without a facet or a shine. Keep on gleaming and brightly shining like the precious jewel that you are! Take advantage of workshops like ACT and people who can give great advice. Train and learn your skill.

I am very thankful for what ACT has meant to me. It truly just blessed my socks off! I learned so much, and I had the greatest time. I keep remembering things that I learned,and I am so excited about trying them. ACT helped me gain enough confidence that I already appeared as an extra in the filming of Ben 10 here in Atlanta this spring. This weekend I will be auditioning for Beauty and the Beast at First Act Theater. On May 18 a recital of beautiful music will be held at the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, and I will be playing 2 numbers on the violin. On May 19 at the talent show at our school, I will also perform, while remembering and putting into action all the things I learned from ACT.

ACT will always be a big part of my life, because when you teach someone, you touch them forever.

Thank you, ACT.
